Exploring the Fort Point Trail

The Fort Point Trail is one of our guests’ favorite hikes — and for good reason. It’s perfect for all ages, naturally shaded, picturesque, and just a short drive from the East Wind.

After hearing so many wonderful reviews, we decided to experience it for ourselves. It truly lived up to the praise. The well-paved paths make for an easy, enjoyable walk, and the surrounding coastal landscape is simply beautiful. One of the highlights is the series of wooden plank bridges along the trail, offering a fun and safe way to immerse yourself in nature.

At the half-mile mark, you’ll arrive at the scenic St. George River — a peaceful spot that’s perfect for taking in the view before turning back to complete the one-mile round trip.

We highly recommend the Fort Point Trail, especially since it’s conveniently located on the way to Camden and Rockland. The trail is thoughtfully maintained and designed, making it accessible and comfortable for those who may need mobility assistance. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely stroll or a scenic stop along your Mid-coast adventure, this trail is well worth the visit.
