Stay & Reservations
Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM.
We do our best to accommodate early arrivals and late departures when possible.
For arrivals after 8:00 PM, head to the front desk in the lobby for room key and after-hours instructions.
Guests have access to our wraparound porches, waterfront lawn, firepit, lobby, dining areas, and the Lookout Room.
The Lookout Room in the Captain's House has a TV, fridge, microwave, coffee, tea, water, books, puzzles, and games. Coffee, tea and water are also available in the Lobby.
Yes, we offer free on-site parking for all guests.
Yes, complimentary high-speed Internet is available throughout the property.

Rooms & Accommodations
The Sail Loft is home to the lobby, restaurant, and several rooms with direct views of the harbor and working dock.
The Captain’s House offers additional ocean-view accommodations, including pet-friendly rooms, the apartment, and access to the Lookout Room—our most popular shared space with guest amenities.
Yes—dogs are welcome in rooms #20-29 of the Captain's House.

All our rooms and suites offer at least partial coastal views. Stay in #1, 3, 5, 7, 26, and 29 for the best water views.
For a front-row look at the working lobster dock, we recommend Rooms 2 and 6.
Our Apartment features a private deck with full harbor views.
As a historic inn, we do not have an elevator. All staircases have handrails and are generally easy to navigate, but guests should be comfortable using stairs.
We’re always happy to assist with luggage whenever possible.

Yes, all rooms and suites are equipped with heating and modern air conditioning for your comfort. Additional space heaters and fans are available upon request.

Yes. the Harborview Bistro serves fresh seafood and from-scratch New England cuisine in a relaxed, waterfront atmosphere. Food or drinks are served at the cozy Quarry Tavern during the summer.
Reservations are highly recommended during the summer season.

Yes, the Harborview Bistro and Quarry Tavern are open to both guests and visitors, making East Wind Inn a destination for waterfront dining as well as a place to stay.
Breakfast is served to Inn guests only.
Yes, we encourage dinner reservations, especially during the summer months. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Porch seating is available with reservations and on a first-come, first-serve basis. Indoor and outdoor seating is available in the Harborview Bistro.
While we do our best to provide every customer with a memorable experience, we cannot guarantee specific tables.
We do our best to accommodate dietary needs. Our breakfast and dinner menus offer items that are vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free.

We’re located in Tenants Harbor, Maine, a quaint fishing village right on the water—about:
- 20 minutes from Rockland
- 30 minutes from Camden
- Close to the Monhegan Island ferry, just 10 minutes from Port Clyde
We are approximately 10 minutes from the ferry departure point to Monhegan Island.
A to-go breakfast may be prepared for those catching the early ferry with 24-hour advanced notice.

Yes, there is an EV charging station available.
There is no cost for East Wind guests to charge their vehicle. A code is available at check in.
By Car
- From the south, take I-95 to Portland and then I-295 north; exit I-295 at Brunswick (Exit 28) or at Topsham (Exit 31) and take coastal U.S. Route 1 North.
- Follow US Route 1 north to Thomaston.
- Turn right (south) onto Route 131 at the Henry Knox Mansion.
- Travel south on Route 131 for 9 miles or so.
- Watch for the Post Office on the left in Tenants Harbor. Bear left off the main road just past the Post Office and head about 200 yards down to the water.

By Air
The East Wind is an easy, scenic 90 minutes from the Portland Jetport Airport, and about 4 hours from Boston's Logan Airport.
You can take a 45 minute shuttle flight on Cape Air from Boston's Logan International Airport to Knox County Airport, Owls Head (Airport Code: RKD). Airport is approximately 15 minutes from the East Wind.
By Boat
Tenants Harbor, known for its deep, protected waters, is a popular sailing destination. Contact the Tenants Harbor Boatyard at (207) 372-8063 to rent a mooring from the East Wind on the Water.
The Tenants Harbor Landing is a public dock close to the Inn that also provides water access.
Booking & Policies
Cancellations made at least 14 days prior to arrival are refunded (minus a $45 service fee).
Within 14 days, deposits become non-refundable.
Travel insurance is available during booking for added peace of mind.
Yes—a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking.
For one-night stays, the full amount is collected.
Rooms are subject to a 9% Maine lodging tax.
There is a one-time $50 pet fee per reservation.
Additional guests beyond standard occupancy may be accommodated for a nightly fee of $35 per adult and $20 per child.
East Wind Inn is a non-smoking property. Smoking is not permitted in guest rooms, indoor public areas, or on porches; designated outdoor smoking areas are available.
A $250 fee will be charged for violations of this policy. The use of candles or incense is not permitted anywhere on the property.
