Clark Island is a local secret for many reasons: its accessibility, seclusion, scenic hikes, and hidden beach! The hiking trails are fairly flat, doable for most fitness levels, shaded, clearly labeled, and dog-friendly. Plus, you’re on an actual island – how cool is that?
There is a one-mile loop and a few shorter trails throughout, all with lookout spots that showcase the beauty of the island. If you have a few hours to spend, you can discover the following:
- Beautiful beach with smooth rocks
- Picnic table overlooking a pond
- Hiking trails along the coast
- Rock Quarry area with large rocks and shaded trees.
And because it remains largely undiscovered, you feel like you’re really on your own adventure through the forest, completely ‘away from it all.’
You can easily spend anywhere from a couple hours to a half (or even full) day at Clark Island relaxing, hiking and taking in the views. Make sure you don’t forget the bug spray or your camera as you explore the great outdoors!
